SMAC is formed through an intergovernmental agreement. Cities will work together collectively to better address legislation and administrative rules that are adversely affecting municipal operations. Please see the sample below for more details:

Each member of the coalition will engage with SMAC to train their Council for boots-on-the-ground advocacy! 


This will include:

  • Individual Council Advocacy Training Sessions
  • Coalition Leadership Training Session
  • Group Strategic Alignment Session 
  • Review, Analysis & Reporting on Active Policy Priorities
  • Council Engagement & Support during Legislative Session & Interim
  • Community Engagement Presentations 
  • Ongoing Consultation with Councilors & Administration
